In the last month, there have been three activations of the fire alarm because people were smoking in the stairwells. The fire alarm does what it has to, but sensors are sensitive and when detecting smoke they will activate the alarm. The loud alarm can be very annoying and that’s why people should not smoke inside stairwells and lifts!
If the fire alarm activates, do not tamper with the alarm. Security might take a little time to get here when it’s busy, but they will come and check why the alarm went off, silence it, and call for assistance when needed.
