Maritana Gate has a secure fiber optics network which provides broadband internet to the apartments. Each apartment has its own dedicated broadband router. The original routers did not have Wi Fi. However, many apartments had their original (faulty) routers replaced with Wi Fi routers. If the management company replaced the original routers, tenants have their own secure Wi Fi zone within their apartment complete with password in order to connect their computer, tablet or smart phone.
Tenants in apartments with original routers, should NOT plug their own Wi Fi router into the broadband cable outlets in the apartments. Connecting their own Wi Fi router to the router that’s already in the apartment will give trouble. Sooner or later the firewall will lock you out and disconnect you from the internet. As this is a secure network, you’re not able to reset or reconfigure the original routers yourself.
