Please be reminded that the red coloured sounders of the fire alarm should not be disconnected or tampered with. Each apartment has a sounder fitted in the hallway. Disconnected sounders cause the fire alarm to malfunction as parts of the sounder circuits WON’T activate when fire or smoke is detected by the system.
Unfortunately sometimes people falsely activate the fire alarm causing inconvenience to the residents, particularly if it happens at night. However, disconnecting sounders results in potentially very hazardous situations.
Any costs associated with identifying and fixing the disconnected sounders will be passed on to the relevant tenants and/or landlords. Also, interfering with the fire alarm and/or fire extinguishers is illegal and misuse will be reported to the authorities.
